An NEGISHI Biography

Over the past few years, sixteen-year-old pianist An Negishi has won top prizes in a number of national and international competitions, including the junior high-school category of the 2008 Chopin International Competition (Asia District), the junior high-school category of the 2009 PETROF International Piano Competition, and Outstanding Performance awards in both the 2008 PTNA Piano Competition and the Ahorn Piano Competition in Japan.

She began playing the piano at age four and has studied with Sumiko Sugimoto and Fumio Kabeya. She now attends the Open Academy of Seitoku University in Chiba, Japan where she studies with Hitoshi Wada.

Besides playing piano, An enjoys reading, especially books of Agatha Christie.
