Kana EGASHIRA Biography

Kana Egashira was born in Hyogo, Japan but began her violin studies at age five while living in Hanoi, Vietnam.

A winner of a number of international competitions, she has been an active concert and chamber music violinist, having performed with a number of well-established musicians in Japan.

She has studied with Takeshi Takezawa, Herwig Zack, Ivry Gitlis, Dong-Suk Kang, Zakhar Bron, Akiko Tatsumi, and most recently, Masayuki Kino.

Now under the guidance of Natsumi Tamai, she studies at the Senior High School of Music attached to The Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts (Tokyo Geijutsu Daigaku) where she enjoys studying song, chamber music, and ballet.
